Paul Nielsen is a graduate of Chicago’s Loyola University School of Business Administration and is a Certified Mergers and Acquisitions Advisor (CM&AA). He holds Registration as a Certified Practicing Business Broker (CPBB), is a Certified Machinery & Equipment Appraiser (CMEA), Licensed Real Estate Agent and Licensed Second Hand Dealer and Justice of the Peace (Qual).
Paul is a Fellow of both the Australian Institute of Business Brokers (FAIBB) and the Institute of Directors & Managers (FIIDM) and is an Accredited Senior Business Analyst (SBA) with the International Society of Business Analysts.
He is Deputy Chairperson and a Director of the Council Of Small Businesses Of Australia (COSBOA) whose membership includes 36 Small Business Peak Bodies with a reach to over 500,000 Small Businesses. COSBOA represents the interests of Small Business in Policy matters to the Federal Government and Govt Dept’s including the Tax Office (ATO) and Corporate Regulator (ASIC).

For three successive terms Paul was the elected National President of the Australian Institute of Business Brokers and is the current Vice President. The AIBB’s members facilitate the transfer of AUS $2 - $3 billion* in completed Business Sales annually throughout Australia.
In 2009 Paul completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors Corporate Governance course and in 2011 he gained accreditation as a Sponsor with the Australian Small Scale Offerings Board (ASSOB) and is accredited with ASIC to facilitate Capital Raisings up to AUS $5 million annually in Equity Capital using the ASSOB platform.
Additional Industry affiliations include membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia Business Valuations Special Interest Group (ICA) and the National Equipment and Business Brokers Institute (NEBBI). He is a Charter member of the Association of Professional Mergers & Acquisitions Advisors and the first Australian Member of the Chicago based Alliance of Mergers and Acquisitions Advisors which has over 900 affiliated offices worldwide to facilitate international investment.
Paul has managed businesses with up to 130 employees and has broad domestic, Cross Border and International experience over a number of Industries in Executive Management; Sales; Marketing and Personnel Management; Corporate Governance; Transactional Negotiations and Business Value Creation.
On the Public Service front, Paul sits on the Australian Tax Office (ATO) Steering Committee to reduce Government ‘Red Tape’ in SME’s and is a member of the Australian Defence Force Reserves Support (DRSC) National Council. He regularly meets with Federal Government Ministers, Department Heads and Senior Advisors to the Prime Minister in Parliament House, Canberra on matters affecting SME’s.
Currently, he holds Directorships in Three Private Companies where he holds an equity position, Two Public Unlisted Companies and is Chairman of the One World Orphans Fund, a Not For Profit Charity in addition to Consulting as a Specialist Business Advisor and Intermediary where he negotiates a range of Corporate Agreements and Transactions including MBO’s, MBI’s, Joint Ventures, Public Unlisted and Private Company divestments, Capital Raisings and Mergers & Acquisitions of SME’s with Revenues up to AUS $ 200 million in his area of expertise in the Manufacturing, Wholesale, Import/Export/Distribution, IP, IT, Professional Services and Health Care areas.
